There's a rumor that "American Idol" golden child Kelly Clarkson butted heads with legendary producer Clive Davis, after he told her to rework her new album, because her new stuff wasn't all that great. And she chose to ignore that advice.Well, Kelly isn't confirming any beef with Clive, but she tells MTV News that she DID stick up for her music, and that fighting with label suits and music executives is a constant part of being a mainstream pop sensation.
She says, quote, "Everybody made a big deal about the label and me disagreeing with the record ['My December'], but that's happened every record. This is just the only one people know about, so there's nothing new. It's always the same thing.
"Everybody's like 'eh' at first, and after it does well, then they're behind it. I always stick to my guns. I think you definitely need to keep doing what you love, because I'm the one who needs to sing it every night."
"My December" drops on June 26th.
